CHAPTER 3 - Launch day
Dear Diary ,
As I gaze out of the porthole, I am struck by the technology delivered us to the ISS. When just 100 years ago, the horse was still the common form of transport. Just 24 hours ago, I was in the crew quarters at on the ISS Kazakhstan.
It took me two years to train. I spent my time between Moscow and Houston. I had to spend time to learn Russian so I can speak to my crew mates and I could speak to mission control. I felt worried because if I made a mistake then the rocket might explode. I spent time underwater to experience weightlessness, it felt like I was superman flying in space. This is a job like no other. I spent my time training in caves. This was to get me used to small spaces. We also had to make sure we were fit and healthy.
I felt scared when the ship blasted off as I felt a punch when the rocket took off but it was so springy. I could feel my belly leap. My family and friends were waving me goodbye. I felt scared because it was like the scariest rollercoaster, unbelievable. I was frightened because I didn’t really understand what they were saying, it was all in Russian. I looked out of the window and could see the blue changing to a darker shade of black. The pointer floated off when we hit zero G. We all jolted in our seat and autopilot was switched on. 1 hour extra to fly until I was the first child on the ISS and space when all of a sudden everyone looked at me like I was dog.
After that I skyped home to my mum and dad and they were so happy to see me. I was so amazed of the moon and the sun but I did not get a good look at the wonderful objects.Soon, I was called to supper by Tim Peake!!! ‘Major Chris!!!’he had called to me. ‘ TIME TO EAT!!!’ It was fun to eat floating food!!!
When we docked in I skyped back home and I was trying to sleep but I was trapped in I could not move I was stuck to one side and made it hard to sleep.
